Dr. Horyong Kim

Horyong Kim Profile Horyong Kim, L.Ac MSTOM is a National Board Certified and state licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in NYS since 2014. He earned his degree from Southern California University, School of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture in 2014. Horyong offers effective and innovative treatment for a wide range of issues including mild scoliosis, stroke, and Bells’ palsy as well as gastrointestinal issues, emotional and mental symptoms, infertility, and weight management. 

In Korea, there is a saying ‘일침(一鍼) 이구(二灸) 삼약(三藥)’, which means ‘First is Acupuncture, Second is Moxibustion, and Third is Herbs’.

However, there is another meaning that is ‘First is Heaven, Second is Earth, and Third is Human.’ So treating patients with Oriental Medicine means to use all universal energy. 

In addition, he believes in Plato’s motto “The part can never be well unless the whole is well”. Therefore, his approach to Oriental Medicine is a combination of finding the right balance of acupuncture, moxibustion, Herbs and patient’s lifestyle. 

Horyong realizes the importance of patient education and places an emphasis on teaching self-management skills and home care. These skills empower the patient to gain personal control over their conditions and maintain healthy lifestyle through diet, exercise, and positive mental attitude. He prides himself on giving individual care and attention to each patient, spending the time that is needed to achieve results, no matter what the condition, having his ultimate goal be to help each patient reach their wellness potential.
